India’s Largest Tibetan Settlement

Bylakuppe is a Tibetan settlement established by Lugsum Samdupling (in 1961) and Dickyi Larsoe (in 1969) in Coorg in Karnataka that is considered to be the largest Tibetan settlement in the world outside Tibet. The town is mainly inhabited by Tibetans and their present population is around 70,000.
